Lately I have not been that active around here as I have been having doubts about this whole idea of having a blog.
This little space has now existed for almost three years and I am not that sure anymore what the purpose is.
The blog actually started as space to share things with our family down under. It never really took off as facebook launched the possibility of having private albums etc. However I found it fun and decided to share my own photos together with loads of inspiring photos I found on the net. Pinterest launched and I started collecting all the inspiring photos there instead. Then I was down to just share my own little bits and bobs from here and then I started using Instagram 1 1/2 year go and somehow this has slowly has been taking over. However it seems like it is the way it is going for a lot of people writing on blogs. Instagram is fast and creative.
As you can hear.. (that is if you a still reading all this babble) I am aware of all this and especially have become aware since I started my master degree in Digital Design and Communication. Suddenly terms like micro blogging, self-exposure and stage behavior has become everyday terms. In other words I have become aware of medias in a new way and not to forget learned a lot about how medias are perceived.
Blogging has for me always been a diary kind of space to remember those little things I tend to forget. People who know me well will properly be nodding right now as I am properly one, if not, the the most absent-minded person they know! (Oh and on that note... if anyone tend to forget things a lot and was also born to early.. let me know!)
Anywho.. back to this. This is for me a collection of beautiful bits and pieces that occur in my everyday life. Quirky little pretty bits from my perspective. However I am sometimes wondering whether this is just silly. I know people (including myself) tend to read some blogs or look at peoples profiles on facebook just to pry into their lives.
Knowing that some people maybe read what I write here just pry into my life makes me unhappy.
And yes. I know. The internet is for everyone. However my little ego inside does not like to be (negatively) judged by strangers or non-strangers for the joy of some gossip. However I know this is what happens when you create some kind of virtual window in to your life.
I guess what I am trying to say with all this is that I am happy to suddenly have quite a bit readers on google and bloglovin + those 15 times a day where someone search for 11-54.com on google...
However I think I need to figure out what my intentions are with this blog... Other than creating new layouts and design, which I think is really fun. Maybe I should get back to the roots and write here because it is my own little visual diary. We will see.
In the meantime I will leave you with Miford Sound, which is no doubt one of the most beautiful places in the world. Too bad the day Stine and I decided to go there was a day with the worst hangovers in history and 15 annoying tourists! Oh yes!
Anyway I hope you will stick around.
Thank you for reading.
